These days, political and social strife has been intensifying significantly compared to past decades. I feel Japan is now at a crossroads regarding national security and defense. There will be major changes in politics and government policies, and ordinary citizens’ lives will gradually be adversely affected by these shifts. Many Russians and Americans have already felt similar impacts and experienced unprecedented societal upheaval, yet many of them simply continue their daily lives as before. While structural changes are occurring beyond the public eye, I somehow expect this sense of normalcy will persist for several decades, with people remaining oblivious to the underlying damage until a major crisis erupts.
